Swami Venkatesananda Recites The Bhagavad Gita

Everyone has his or her favorite yogic text, be it an ancient scripture, or a modern treatise. And certainly not everyone will agree that The Bhagavad Gita is the “Cream of the Vedas,” as Swami Sivananda and a host of others have referred to it. Yet one can neither find a more a more practical nor more complete list of teachings in a single volume than one finds in The Bhagavad Gita.

If you had to take just one yogic text to a desert island, The Bhagavad Gita would have to be the one! Its scope outdistances the famous "to do or not do" otherwise thought of as the “fight or not fight" conundrum that prompts Krishna to answer Arjuna, and to begin the discource known to us as The Bhagavad Gita.

What follows in Krishna’s reply is the full spectrum, a veritable rainbow of truths that light a path for the student of yoga, no matter what one's path. In fact, it provides a roadmap no matter where the spiritual aspirant may be in the journey.

Swami Venkatesananda was a life-long devotee of the Bhagavad Gita, and chants it here for all who would seek to bathe in the Sanskrit vibrations of this holy scripture.
